City Market Bayside Lifestyle Center Breaks Ground In Destin

DESTIN, FL – City Market Lifestyle Center is expanding its brand and footprint in Destin, Florida with a major expansion. The 32,000 square foot lifestyle center will be a vibrant mix of seasoned national, regional and local specialty retailers, restaurants and prime office space with high visibility.

The project, known as City Market Bayside, will sit on 2 1/2 acres on Highway 98, diagonally across from existing City Market Beachside Lifestyle Center that was built in 2003. The original City Market Beachside Lifestyle Center is home to a very successful mix of merchants, including restaurants, shops, a fitness center, a nail salon and several high-end office spaces.

"The City Market brand has long been recognized along the Emerald Coast as a unique shopping and dining experience for locals and tourists," said City Market Marketing Director, Heidi LoCicero. According to LoCicero the lifestyle center will create 110 jobs and will continue to be very active in community events and causes.

"Locals and tourists alike are looking for unique places to shop and dine that they can't find in their hometown. They want to experience the best in Destin—and City Market Beachside and now City Market Bayside, will offer both," added LoCicero.

Construction has begun on the site with a target completion date 1st quarter of 2016 and is currently accepting concept proposals from prospective merchants, such as restaurants, boutiques, medical offices and such. The shopping center will feature the same iconic, high-end, unique aesthetic look of the City Market brand and will be a place for families to relax, shop, dine and play.

In Okaloosa County, the City Market brand has had an economic impact in excess of $15 million dollars, along with it's philanthropic and community involvement in causes such as the Cancer Society's Cattle Baron's Ball, Danny Wuerffel's Desire Street Ministries, Children's Volunteer Health Network and Gateway Academy.

In 2014, Destin, Florida, and the Emerald Coast, known for it's breathtaking emerald green waters and sugar white sand, was included in TripAdvisor's 2014 rankings for top emerging destinations in the United States, named as a Top 10 Popular U.S. Beach by Yahoo Travel and was chosen as one of Florida Travel+Life's Best Places to Live in Florida.
